Restore Face Steam
Your new favorite self-care ritual!!!!
We are so excited to bring you two incredible herbal steam blends! Our face steam blends are not your average beauty ritual. These holistic blends were created with more than your skin in mind!
Our RESTORE face steam was created with the intention to not only rejuvinate the skin, but to help you relax. It features chamomile, lavender, calendula, lemon balm, and bay. The name chamomile comes from the Greek word for “ground apple” or “earth apple” due to its apple-like scent. Most know this popular herb as a bedtime tea, but it is believed to have many benefits for the skin. Herbalists have praised its anti-inflammatory properties and believe it to be a powerful nervine to ease tension. Chamomile is a brightening herb, and its use as a medicinal herb predates written history. Lavender flowers have a sweet, floral scent and have also long been used in bath and body products. In fact, the name came from the Latin word “lavare” which means “to wash” and was given to the plant by the Romans who used it to bathe. Historically, lavender was believed to be antibacterial and antiseptic, so it was used for disinfecting minor cuts and wounds, as well as easing pain and supporting the body's natural healing process. Calendula was thought to be a tissue healer in German folk medicine, and was historically used for cuts, bites, burns, sunburns, scars and other skin issues. It was even believed to be antifungal and a pain reliever. A favorite of owner Casey Downs, who calls a calendula oil infusion “liquid gold”, calendula is a very popular herb in skincare products, and has undergone many clinical studies that provide evidence of the plant's benefits. Lemon balm smells like it sounds and puts the "fresh" in "refresh!" It was historically believed to be a mood booster, and has been used in herbal medicine to ease anxiety and depression, tension, and nervousness. It's scientific name, Melissa, came from the Greek word for bee, due to how much bees LOVE it! Bay leaves are believed to aid in clearing up acne, and are believed to help ease pain as well. A single bay leaf is typically added to recipes to balance acidity and burned to help purify the home or, in witchcraft, to make a wish.
Directions: Add one tbsp of herbs to the reusable tea bag included (you could also use a tea ball or disposable tea bags) and add to a large bowl. Pour boiling water over the tea bag, cover head with a towel, and position face over the steam for 10-15 minutes. You can use the tea bag as an undereye treatment after. We typically place it on the bridge of our nose so the herbs sit on our dark circles. You can soak up the remaining herb water with a small towel and place over face afterwards for 10-15 minutes, or do this instead of steaming, OR use it over out DEVOTION face mask! Another option is to let the herbal water cool and to mix it with a clay mask, like our DEVOTION face mask!
